Our Vineyard and Wines
Bimbadeen Estate, is located in the Mount View area of the Lower Hunter and we produce shiraz, semillon and pinot wines.
The Mount View area contains small protected sub-valleys with highly favourable soils influenced by the large proportion of limestone in the underlying rocks. Terra Rossa clays over crumbly limestone and free draining red and brown clay loams.
Our wines are all "single vineyard" vintages and all aspects of production are hand tended from pruning through bud selection and thinning to eventual picking.
At the 2008 Hunter Valley Wine Show we were awarded 2 bronze medals in the same category, with our 2005 and 2006 Shiraz being awarded Bronze Medals in the '100% Hunter Valley Shiraz 2006 and older category'. The judges' comments for the class were "....... A very strong class of Hunter Shiraz."
